  • Do eye examinations hurt?
    No. We use state of the art technology and non-invasive techniques to carry out your eye test. Our professionally trained staff will guide you through the process at every step and will be happy to answer any questions you have.
  • Do I receive NHS entitlements?
    You may be entitled to a free eye examination for a number of reasons. Some of these include: if you are aged 60 or over suffer from diabetes or glaucoma you're aged 16 and under or if you are aged 16, 17 or 18 and in full-time education.   • How long does an eye exam last?
    The length of an eye examination varies depending on the patient being examined but a typical test usually lasts between 25-35 minutes.
  • How do I book an appointment?
    You can call or email the practice to book your eye exam. Head to the Contact Us page to view our contact information.
  • Do I need to know my prescription when visiting?
    If you're an existing patient at Eye 2 Eye Opticians in Heswall, don't worry. All prescription records are kept on file so there is no need for you to be sure of your prescription. If you're a new patient however, we will have to undergo an eye exam to determine your prescription, unless you have an in-date, valid prescription from a qualified practitioner at another opticians.
  • I'm very worried about an eye problem, can you see me urgently?"

  • How often should I have my eyes examined?
    If you are: Aged 15 or below - once every year Aged 16-69 years - once every 2 years Aged 70 years and over - every year Diabetic and Glaucoma patients - every year Aged 40 years and over with an immediate relative with Glaucoma - every year The above are general guidelines and more regular eye exams may be required in some cases.
