Upgrade your Eye Exam with an OCT Scan

Eye 2 Eye Opticians in Heswall is proud to offer this technology for our patients to help us deliver the optimal care for your eye health.

Ocular Coherence Tomography is an advanced eye scan for people of all ages. We specifically recommend our OCT exam for patients over 20 years old.

An OCT scan uses light to illustrate the different layers that make up the back of the eye. The scan also captures a digital photograph of the surface of the eye, so your optometrist can cross-reference them for any areas of concern.

It is a non-invasive, safe and painless process and our Topcon Maestro 2 equipment allows us to capture 3D, widefield colour scan images of your eye for a closer look at your eye health.

Additional fees may occur when you upgrade your eye examination to include this scan.

Advanced OCT Machine for Eye scans

Why have an OCT scan?

The major benefit of this state of the art machine is that it allows your optometrist to easily find out the exact state and location of a particular eye condition.

Your optometrist can review the images on a PC screen and pinpoint areas they have identified as requiring further investigation.

An OCT machine like ours can help us detect potential concerns at an earlier stage. These include:

  1. Age related Macular Degeneration

  2. Diabetes

  3. Glaucoma

  4. Vitreous detachments

  5. Macular Holes

Our OCT tests are included as part of our advanced eye test appointment.
